Troy Davis’ Clemency Denied

It now looks like in about 24 hours convicted killer Troy Anthony Davis will be put to death in the state of Georgia by lethal injection despite the fact that 10 witnesses of the crime signed affidavits explaining that authorities forced them to say that it was Davis, and eight others had a change of mind and revealed that another person committed the murder.
Troy Anthony Davis who was convicted for the 1989 killing of Savannah Police Officer Mark Allen MacPhail with three bullets will be put to death on Wednesday due to the fact that Georgia’s pardons board rejected his appeal for clemency – this is the fourth time Troy Anthony Davis escaped death.
The grieving family of the former Army Ranger which was represented by his son said in a brief statement:
“Justice was finally served for my father. The truth was finally heard.”
All may not be lost as many important figures like Pope Benedict XVI, former president Jimmy Carter and Change.org which has collected almost one million signatures petitioning the state to consider the new testimonies and spare Davis’ life.
